In the last post published in the blog we talked about the agreement signed between Iker Casillas Foundation, Real Madrid Foundation and IDOVEN to bring professional digital cardiology to vulnerable groups..
At this event, after more than two years, almost the entire IDOVEN team came together. and the general comment was: "I didn't know there were so many of us".
The team is being joined by extremely talented people who want to help us prevent heart disease: the leading cause of death worldwide.
That is why today we want to talk about the growth of IDOVEN since its beginnings and how, step by step, the team has grown to the 17 members that we are today between permanent and part-time workers. We hope that this is only the beginning of a great story.
IDOVEN was born out of research in cardiology, work that we have carried out at the National Centre for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC) as part of the Laboratory for Advanced Development on Arrhythmia Mechanisms and Therapies. and in the various hospitals and institutions in which we have worked, such as the Ciudad Real General University Hospitalthe Ramón and Cajal University Hospital, the 12 de Octubre University Hospital, the San Carlos Clinical Hospital or the Sports Medicine Centre of the Spanish Agency for Health Protection in Sport (AEPSAD) of the Sport Council of Spain (CSD) with the Spanish elite sportsmen and sportswomen of the #TeamESP. We belong to the working group of Sports Cardiology of the Spanish Society of Cardiologyof the European Society of Cardiology and the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red Enfermedades Cardiovaculares (CIBERCV).
At the beginning of the project there were three of us:
- Dr. Manuel Marina Breysse: cardiologist, co-founder and CEO of IDOVEN.
- José María Lillo Castellano: CTO and co-founder of IDOVEN.
- Íñigo Juantegui: co-founder of IDOVEN.
Over the years and as the company has grown, we have incorporated professional profiles in cardiology, nursing, engineering, data science, cloud, sales, finance, legal, operations and entrepreneurship with great innovation and teamwork skills to solve problems in the field of health that help us to grow every day.
It has to be highlighted the figure of Iker Casillas as investor and ambassador who joined our team in 2020 to raise awareness and give voice to the need to take care of people's hearts, based on the cardiac episode he suffered while training in 2019. And the investment in a €2M Seed round 6 months ago. In which has participatedAccelone of the largest investment funds in the world that seeks to be the "best in the world". First partner to exceptional teams everywhere".
In this link you can meet all the members of the team if you wish.
Our team continues to grow every day and our mission has not changed since the beginning of the project:
"We are looking for early detection of cardiac problems to prevent diseases such as heart attacks and sudden cardiac death. To do this, we are redefining the way cardiac arrhythmias are diagnosed by creating Willem (who we consider a member of the team): the first Artificial Intelligence platform that wants to automate the reading of electrocardiograms and the holter in the cloud".
At IDOVEN we are creating the next generation of diagnostic tools for cardiac patients around the world. Using Artificial Intelligence, deep learning and cloud platforms, we help doctors and patients diagnose cardiovascular disease earlier and more accurately.
We are working on one of the biggest opportunities in health care. Social impact in healthcare. With 1 cardiac arrest every 2 seconds globally, cardiovascular disease is the world's leading cause of death.
We strive to go beyond the limits of what is possible today and we want to do it in an elegant and simple way for our users, always seeking scientific, ethical and technological excellence. And most importantly, enjoying the journey, learning and growing together as people and as professionals every day.
Our mission is to bring cardiac and artificial intelligence together to advance medical diagnostic capabilities to improve patient outcomes. With the ultimate goal of protecting, caring and saving lives.
Our Artificial Intelligence SaaS platform has the potential to demonstrate, in the clinical studies we currently have underway, substantial improvements in diagnostic accuracy and treatment efficacy, while promising to predict future cardiac problems. This is probably one of the reasons why we won the award for the most innovative startup at the South Summit finals, being considered IDOVEN as "the most disruptive startup competing at the South Summit with almost 4000 startups from all over the world".IDOVEN has also been the winning startup in the Health vertical this year 2021. The whole team is very grateful for this recognition.
We are a very technical, passionate team with a desire to make the world a better place.
We have offices in Madrid and part of the team works remotely. We are looking for people who want to be part of this adventure. If you want to be part of the IDOVEN team or you know people with great talent who can help us, do not hesitate to contact us at following link.
Thank you.
