3+1 symptoms for which you should go to the cardiologist | IDOVEN

Many clients, before hiring our servicesask us if they should go to a cardiologist or use our technology. In neither case are they mutually exclusive.

We explain below: going to the cardiologist when we notice that something is not going well can avoid more than one scare.

That is why it is important to pay attention to certain warning signs with which our body warns us that something is not working normally.

Here are four warning signs:

Chest pain: Chest pain is defined as any discomfort or abnormal sensation in the region of the chest above the diaphragm. Acute ischemic heart disease (myocardial infarction, unstable angina, new onset angina) is the most common and potentially fatal cause of chest pain.

Pain of myocardial origin occurs when the supply of oxygen to the heart is insufficient in relation to its needs; this occurs when the coronary blood flow is inadequate, so in stable angina pain lasts between 4 and 15 minutes and occurs when doing physical exercise or after suffering strong emotions, giving way when at rest.

In unstable angina pectoris, the discomfort is similar but appears at rest, lasts more than 20 minutes and the episodes are increasingly intense and frequent. At first it may be mistaken for a heart attack, but in this case the pressure persists after 30 minutes and does not subside.

Typically anginalchest pain is often referred to as oppressive, like a weight that "squeezes the chest". It is typically retrosternal, and may have irradiation to the left upper limb and jaw. It is typical of chest pain of cardiac origin that is more frequent in the morning, with the first effort, or that arises when performing some exercise such as climbing stairs or climbing slopes. It may be accompanied by a vegetative cortex that includes cold sweats, nausea and vomiting. Pain of cardiac origin does not change with the movements we make (this is associated with pulmonary or musculoskeletal causes).

In case we feel a pain of these characteristics, the visit to the cardiologist should not wait. With our services we can help identify electrical changes in the heart that occur during these situations. Our clients receive a comprehensive and detailed report, which also includes whether a cardiologist's assessment is indicated, as well as the urgency of this assessment if it is necessary.

Palpitations: Although they can also go unnoticed, arrhythmias manifest themselves in the form of palpitations.

For that reason, if we perceive an uncomfortable sensation in the chest and we notice alterations in the cardiac rhythm, we should use the services offered by IDOVEN or go to a specialist, since in normal conditions the heart should follow a "regular" rhythm. The heart beats as a result of electrical impulses that cause the atria and ventricles to contract properly, synchronously and rhythmically. The heart rate normally ranges between 60 and 100 beats per minute (bpm) in the general population and is lower in athletes and people who exercise regularly.

Cardiac arrhythmias occur because the electrical impulse is not generated properly, because it originates in the wrong place, or because the pathways for electrical conduction are altered.

Arrhythmias can cause symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, syncope or chest pain.but they can also go unnoticed and be detected casually when diagnostic tests are performed, such as the long-term monitoring with our devices, but they can also go unnoticed and be detected casually. The reference diagnostic test is the electrocardiogram, but it has the disadvantage that it only records the cardiac electrical activity at the time it is being performed and, therefore, only shows us if there are arrhythmias at that time.

The devices that we offer in IDOVEN allow to register the cardiac electrical activity during a longer period of time, increasing the possibility of detection of the different anomalies in the cardiac rhythm.thus increasing the possibility of detecting the different anomalies in the cardiac rhythm.

Intense fatigue and tiredness: When activities that do not require great effort, such as climbing stairs, exhaust you, it is a good idea to consult your doctor. This is one of the symptoms of heart failure. Heart failure is a syndrome characterised by the presence of symptoms (shortness of breath, dizziness, tiredness, difficulty breathing while lying down, etc.) and signs that the heart is not working properly (the blood is not being expelled properly) and is accumulating in the body; this swelling, known as oedema, is usually located in the legs, ankles or abdomen. This is why sometimes more urine is passed at night than during the day (nocturia). Many heart diseases lead to this condition. If we suffer from them, the sooner they are diagnosed, the better prognosis they may have.

Syncope: Syncope, more commonly known as fainting, is a symptom characterized by sudden loss of consciousness and its recovery spontaneously. When you have been on the verge of losing consciousness, the term presyncope is used.

It is produced, in the vast majority of cases, by a failure in the blood supply to the brain and there are multiple causes. Among the cardiac causes that produce syncope are myocardial diseases or arrhythmias.

Syncope is sometimes preceded by warning symptoms and sometimes not. The presence of palpitations or chest pain before syncope or that occurs during exertion or intense emotion should alert us to a possible cardiac cause.

Thanks to IDOVEN, a correct diagnosis of the cause of syncope of cardiac origin can be made.if they are repeated frequently, electrocardiographic information can be obtained thanks to the monitoring with our Short-term devices and if the episodes are infrequent with our long-term monitoring.

If you have felt any of these symptoms at any time or you want to make sure your heart is working properly, please consult us at our services.
